Valentino Rossi of Ducati says that it is difficult to remain confident after a crash Valentino Rossi rider of team Ducati says that it is hard to keep up with the confidence if you face a crash during the race.
He was referring to his crash during the United States Grand Prix.
He said that it was a difficult weekend because he crashed and is struggling with his confidence.
“It was a very difficult weekend, and it closed in the worst possible way with a crash that I didn't expect,” Rossi told the official MotoGP website.
He added that he had some problems with his front tyre because it is not heating up the way as it should have. He said that it is due to this factor that tyre is still new even after getting used for 30 laps.
Moreover, he said that this problem is not new but still they have been unable to resolve it.
“I lost the front as soon as I touched the brake and for me it was a big surprise because I was going quite slowly. But all this weekend we have had some difficulty putting enough temperature in the front tyre, so the front tyre after 30 laps is brand new. It's a pity, especially because we have had this problem for a long time and we are not able to fix it,” he said.
Rossi said that the first half of the season was more or less same as the previous year. He added that it is very difficult to keep up with concentration and power, both physically and mentally, when the targets one is fighting for are not very important.
Furthermore, he said that still there are eight races remaining in the current season. He added that they should be giving their maximum performance on the weekends, if they wanted to improve their place in the championship.
Moreover, he said that the latter half of the 2011 season was very alarming.
Talking about his contract with Yamaha, the Italian rider said that he will decide in a few weeks time preferably before Indianapolis Grand Prix. He said that he gets too stuck in a race therefore he is not in a state of mind to think much during race weekends.
During the summer break, the Italian rider is thinking about signing his contract of 2013. It is expected that he will choose between Yamaha and Ducati. Until now, he has not announced anything related to his contract.
