Donington Park and Imola are added to the final copy of the 2011 World Superbike Championship calendar.
The FIM have confirmed the calendar for the 2011 World Superbike Championship, with Donington Park and Imola formally included on the schedule.
Two slots had been left available on the provisional calendar, with Donington Park securing a return to the series with March date, while organisers have since confirmed that the third Italian round – which was TBA initially - will once more be held at Imola.
Once again taking in 13 events, the season will kick off at Phillip Island on February 27th, before moving onto Donington Park a month later.
From there, the schedule will be fairly similar to that of 2010, taking in events at Assen (Netherlands), Monza (Italy), Miller Motorsports Park (USA) and Misano (San Marino) before the series makes a first visit to Motorland Aragon, the Spanish venure replacing Kyalami.
Brno (Czech Republic) and Silverstone (UK) follow before the season concludes at Nurburgring (Germany), Imola (Italy) and Magny-Cours (France), while Portimao in Portugal will return to the season finale slot it occupied in 2008 and 2009 on October 16th.
As for the World Supersport Championship, unlike the last two seasons, the series will not visit Miller Motorsports Park in the USA, with the AMA Superbike series instead getting support billing. The Superstock series, meanwhile, will stay with ten events, skipping Phillip Island, Donington Park and Miller.
