Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa made a fine start on US MotoGP at Laguna Seca and held on to his lead and domination to win the Sunday's race. For most of the race Pedrosa maintained a couple of seconds ahead of last year US MotoGP winner Valentino Rossi who got close enough on the final turn to make a lunge. But what Rossi did wasn’t enough and the Spaniard took Honda’s first MotoGP victory since the 2008 Catalunya MotoGP.
Jorge Lorenzo showed a strong performance despite his shoulder injury and made a bold move on teammate Rossi for second spot. He almost lose control of his Yamaha M1 bike, but he managed to keep his
bike on track. Lorenzo ran wide though and Rossi regained his second spot behind Dani Pedrosa.
Ducati rider Casey Stoner finished on fourth place in a clearly exhausting race for him and teammate Nicky Hayden recorded his best result on a Ducati by finishing on fifth.
